P-242f-Diesel Particulate Filter Restriction-Ash Accumulation

i just had my DPF clean itself again for the second or thrid time this month. i did every thing i know to do. I drove around for awhile and the DPF reg. process was done but i had a check engine light come on. came home and turn the key three times and got this code to come up( p 242F and aslo a p 1451) What does this mean. will i need to have my DPF replaced. If i do i am going to just get rid of the dang thing( the filter not the truck). Any help will be great thanks.

Just talked to the dealer today. I'm getting a new dpf and they are cleaning the turbo. But they say I need a new crankcase filter.

I hate DPF filters, such a waste. If ever i get my new TDI (crossfingers) and it doesnt have to run on emission stuff (cross all fingers and toes) then im rippin it all off and putting a brand new 3" straight pipe on that badboy.

I have 86473. miles on my 08 and never had an issue with my dpf , as for crank case filter I replaced mine myself ( located right underneath valve cover, just remove valve cover bolts and lift it off, its huge same size as the inside of valve cover) owners manual tells you how many miles you go before changing it, you will get a cel light and a message to see dealer. maybe yours got clogged up and its messing with air movement in motor.
