Manual tranny is still the same, so is the auto.

HP remains the same, but got a bump to 800 lb/ft of tourque. What gives. This has to be a programming change. If so I want it, free of charge.

Ok looking more into it, its for the auto only, the manual tranny stays at 350/650

The new HP rating is actually higher at 390, but is only seen in certain conditions so they are keeping the rating at 350. Good move in my book, no smoke and mirror marketing a la blue oval.

To handle the increased towing, the Max Tow package will add a beefed up rear axle with a new 4.10 gear ratio, new rear-axle pinion, new helical gears, upgraded bearings and an aluminum differential cover with large cooling fins. There's also a new water-to-oil transmission cooler and new power steering cooler to help manage the higher trailer towing ratings.

Little more involved than just a programming update, and the manual is still 350/650 rated.

I know...but they should offer that to us, since we were outgunned from the start

I know I'd like an upgraded tranny!

An upgraded clutch would be a good start. Aside from guys drag racing,I don't hear that many failure reports on the tranny, Now the clutch...

Where did you see the 390 number? The graph doesn't show that.

Manuals are 350/610.
They said 390 in the article but the graph only shows 350.

And whoops the manual is 610

Hmm.. That's the only artice I have seen that in I wonder if thats a typo or error?

I wonder if they read this statement and did the math wrong?

"While peak horsepower remains unchanged (350 @ 3,000 rpm), the engine’s new calibration delivers more than 40 additional horsepower at typical highway cruising speeds."

I could see how if you didn't understand the relationship between hp/tq and rpms you could make that assumption.

I'm leaning towards fuzzy math. I think that they misinterpreted 40 more hp at a given rpm for 40 additional peak hp.

I just skimmed over the article this morning after rereading it it has to be a misprint.

Just read the dodge site and it only refers to a change in the hp curve no the peak hp.

That's my guess as well. Considering that the 150 ft/lb increase at 1,500 rpms is a 42hp gain!
