New 6.7 flash
Metalaram,
I know all to well just how you feel dude... I too have one that started out with the poor fuel mileage, not only that but the CEL as well. Then no local dealer that can fix this or would and not have to lie about everything under the hood of the new truck.
I saw basically the same fuel mileage hauling my 27' GN trailer and running empty not pulling anything. That didn't make any sense to me dude.
I am also one that with what you have added on your truck for as the larger tires and whatever else, figure you would not see much if any difference in the fuel mileage if you was to put the truck back to stock specs. I would bet money on it actually and only because of what I have seen from my 6.7... There is some really wild and weird things on this system and the why and how it does this, just doesn't add up LOL.
So, don't get so torqued up with what some of the guys here have typed on the forum dude. Its just that they have been lucky enough to have gotten a new truck as it should have been for all of us. I wouldn't take it so personal either even though their comments was somewhat...
I have sense rebuilt my exhaust system myself to see if I couldn't address some of my own fuel mileage issues, sense I run my truck 400-500 miles a day and five days a week pulling the 27' GN all over the place. My fuel mileage was and still is bad.
The exhaust system I made does have mine working quite a bit better, more hp and better fuel mileage. Mileage went up somewhere between 1 and 2 mpg. Not as much as I expected from a system such as what is on the 6.7 LOL.
What really shocked me dude was I didn't see much throttle response improvement either from the exhaust system change I am working with right now. I would have bet money on a much improved throttle response. The response or lack of and the hang time after you back out of the throttle is a real issue I would like to see fixed.
Gas motor does this hang time after the throttle returned to idle I would be looking for a vacuum leak somewhere on the intake and/or checking the compression of each cyclinder...LOL
I am thinking its more in the way the EGR system has not been right on my truck now, but at least now I know the DPF is not stopping up sense its MIA... With all the trouble I have had on mine with the CEL about the EGR stuck open, I just figured I would address the exhaust system first...
So provided I don't get into trouble here on the forum again and have stuff I post on what I am figuring out on my truck deleted from the forum, I will try and keep those interested and having the same issues I have had, in the loop. In hopes of getting info that will help me figure mine out as well as share with others that might help theirs...
