Angry Need help starter issue..

I have an 08 2500 6.7l . It had been starting and running flawlessly but I went to the auto parts store the other night turned it off and when I came out 10 min later and tried to start it everything looked normal but when I turn the key to engage the starter it trys to start for 1 second then stops for 1 second and continues this 3 times before it completely stops and I have to recycle the ignition switch.. luckily the engine was warm so it fired up but now after it has set all night it doesn't turn over enough to start.. any suggestions?

Starter sounds normal no weird noises. No codes I'm at a loss here.. could it be the starter solenoid? Starter wire? Starter relay if it has one? Someone has had to have had this issue before..i would appreciate any input ..

Batteries can go bad at only 3 months of age. Sounds more like a possible starter issue to me. Take the starter lead off the starter and run a jumper wire direct from the battery to the starter. Make sure you have a wire the same size or larger than the factory wire, also make sure you have a good connection at the battery when trying this.

Could also be the starter contacts inside the solenoid for the starter. LarryBs sells new contacts for reasonable price if that is the issue

Turns out that a random bolt had gotten lodged between the solenoid contact and the starter housing. When I removed the bolt it was welded to the contact and tore it off as well.. so 1 new starter later my truck starts perfect again.. thank you all for the responses.
