Need front u joints who makes greasable ones?

Well i have been hearing a popping noise coming from the front end and i found that my u joints are shot already (only 35k miles on my truck). I am pretty bummed that they need to be replaced already because i have barely used 4 wheel drive. Who or what co. makes u joints with a grease fitting?

Wow. 35k? My 93 has 259k and my drivers side just went out.
I too am looking some greaseable u-joints. Will they be weaker? If so, is it wise to use a weaker U-joint?
Its gonna be such a pain. Im gonna have to do it over Spring Break.

I do believe a grease able u-joint would be weaker since they have to be hollow in order to get the grease where it's needed.

If you only have 35K miles on it I would have a go and seeing if the dealer will fix it for you under warrantee, there's no reason they should go out that fast.

While I have never had to do it on the Dodge yet, I've replaced countless u-joints on my jeep and it really isn't that hard a job. Heck I've done it at camp using just a hammer and a socket just slightly smaller than the u-joint cap, though a ball joint press makes the job much easier. Just be don’t use air tools when putting the new joint in, I learned that lesson the hard way.

Spicer, Precision...

it's not a strength issue, it's that the sealed joints are junk and wear out prematurely IMO. anything is an improvement over stock.

exactly, doesn't matter how strong the joint is if there are no needle bearings left.

Also solid doesn't mean strong. The strongest axle shafts you can get from SCS gear for rockwell axle (pulling truck) are gun drilled (hollow).

well i ended up calling my local dodge to se if it was under warranty and it was, one u-joint was cracked and missing a big chunk of metal, the other was seized and then they told me all front ball joints had severe play which were replaced also under warranty. its crazy that it only has 34k miles and i didnt even drive the truck much this winter since i have a 97 with a plow.
