My 2008 Mega Cab must go...

I just bought an 08 Mega Cab in March and due to my job lay off I must sell it. Where is the best place to advertise? Where on this website do you post trucks for sale?

Your help is much appreciated

I tried to sell my truck all over the internet, but all I got was aggravation and tire kickers. I never tried listing it on Ebay, maybe you can try there and have some luck. I think the problem with used trucks is that most want to get their payoff amount but usually the payoff amount is what you can get a brand new one for. I am sorry about your situation and hope you can move the truck quicker than I could move mine.

Unhappy That sucks!

I have had pretty good luck with autotrader.com. Unfortunately with this economy everything is hard to sell except gas. Good luck.

Sorry to hear that. Hopefully you got it at invoice minus holdback and put a big chunk down, because you are going to have to take a huge hit to sell it.

With no more Mega Cabs after 08, you'll have a classic if you can hang onto it. Good luck, and I hope you find a job you want soon. Lots of work in Wy.

I think most have kinda hit the nail on the head. You are most likely looking at a significant hit for the truck right now. Free advertising is available on craigslist.com if you want to post it there. What are you thinking of selling it for?

I would price it out on KBB.com ....enter zip code, mileage, condition (new) etc and see what the "Private Party Value" is. I had good luck selling my F350 Powerstroke on eBay, but that was a few years ago and the market is obviously different now with dealers offering all kinds of incentives ($2.99 fuel, rebates, 0% financing etc).

Good luck, times are tight but will improve soon I'm sure!

I have sold a few vehicles on e-bay and if you don't have the title free and clear then it is almost always a problem. If you don't have a job then you can always contact the bank and turn it in. It looks bad but it's better than trying to find the $$$ to pay the note when you aren't working....

Where did you hear that?

Are you saying you can't buy a 2009 mega cab?

This is how rumors start.

If you want to know the true value of your truck use this URL: http://www.edmunds.com/tmv/used/index.html I use them any time I want to buy or sell and they are the only one over the years who are very close as to what a dealer will give you for trade in or what you can sell it for. I will also add that some times you can get more then what they list the value at if you sell it to a private party. If you use Edmund's numbers and get more for it then take it and don't wait to see if you get a better offer as diesel trucks have lost a lot of value in the past few months due to the higher cost of diesel. I've heard where a person had a 2007 4x4 QC Duramax an was offered 18K trade in.

Good Luck.
