lockwire drainplug?

Hey,

Anybody figure out a way to lockwire their engine drainplug? I've done it many times for motorbikes. The reason I ask is while I was under the truck scoping it out for it's first oil change I decided to just see how tight the drainplug was from the factory. Is it ever loose.......

Does anyone have the torque specs for this? I'd be fine with using proper torque but even more fine with lockwire!

I'll lockwire the filter too.

Thanks guys.

ok.

I'm not welcome.

I get it.

My invalid question is; What's the torque spec for the engine drain plug?

I lock wire the drain plug on my bike also, but not on my truck, I put on a EZ change drain plug and man that thing ROCKS. No more oily ratchets or burnt fingers...

Most people here are pretty helpfull BB, don't worry about these clowns.

Never heard of anoyone "lock-wiring" their drain plugs or filters though, not really needed me thinks.

Don't like any kinda EZ Change thing either, just don't trust them...

E-Z change plug

I got one from Geno's Garage and it works great. Doesn't leak and makes getting an oil sample to send to Blackstone for oil analysis a snap. Since I'm approaching the "Big 70" I've decided to let the dealer do the changes and the oil guy says I am his favorite customer because he doesn't get an oil bath like he usually did................
