I guess cleaning the DPF is more dangerous than we thought. Wonder how Dodge gets around the hot exhaust issue.

Thay could always put a spark arrestor on there.[laugh]

I'm not sure which part of this article made me laugh more. It's a toss up between the fact that one of the reports of flames was from a leak caused by a crack in the turbocharger shaft or the fact that they will now be de-tuning the trucks so the temperatures in the particulate filter will stay lower. [dummy] Yea, sign me up for a pooper duty, can you install the flame thrower kit that I've been reading about? [laugh]

A grass fire in Texas that was quickly extinguished [dummy] !!!!

C'mon people grow up, you dont thing Dodge wont be having any problems with the new 6.7 that people will want to laugh at? I get so sick and tired of people acting like children because of another mfr having a problem or recall. Now dont get me wrong this is a serious issue but they are obviously going to correct it. I'll admit Ford has made some mistakes with the last 6.0 and hopefully not with the new 6.4. Now I am not defending Ford but I will say I have been a die hard Ford person for years and purchase new trucks every year but after last year and learning about the new 6.4 I decided to swith to Dodge I never had any Durability issues with any of my 6.0 litres but way too many reflashes and poor mpg engine did not compare to 7.3. As far as Chevy or GMC couldn't give me one Diesel with aluminum heads? dont make me laugh also I need trucks that if you put more than 1,000 pounds in the back the bumper doesn't drag on the ground. So as I said I ordered my very first Dodge 6.7 cummins 6spd auto Laramie, and I hope I wont be dissapointed. But just keep in mind guys these new engines may have there problems too. And I will always stand behind an American product even if it has flames shooting out of the exhaust.

Better than rice out of the exhaust!

There's a thread going already about this in the General Diesel Discussion: https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...d.php?t=142820

Actually I kinda like the idea of an 'Afterburner' option.... I wonder if that's possible... Hmmmm.... I'll have to work on that after I get the flux capacitor working.
