factory exhaust brake

My 07 6.7 6 speed cab chassis did not come with factory exhaust brake. what should I expect to pay at dealer for this upgrade. I purchased in March.

Anyone have any ideas?

Call the dealer. They are the only ones who are going to be able to give you an accurate number.

When I ask my dealer a question they seem to play dumb. I guess its time to find a new dealer.

I understand that there is an activation kit available for my cab chassis. does anyone know about this kit and how difficult it is to install. I saw this kit on Ebay for around $100.

your truck does have the factory exhaust brake, it just has not been activated via the computer, and you dont have the switch to turn it on and off. Not sure how expensive it would be to have it done through the dealer, but i would think it wouldnt be too bad

We are going through this scenario right know with DC, the update kit that is available here has a mismatch on the connector plug. It cost me approx $800.00 CDN to install both the exhaust brake kit and the high idle (PTO kit) kit. The 07 6.7 trucks are all capable of activating the exhaust brake and the internal adjustable high idle sytem. I had to bring the part numbers and info to my dealer, DC engineering is presently trying to make it work. The cost is the hourly rate to install the kit, switch and computer upgrade = labor time. when I first brought this up with the saleman at a different dealer I was told that an aftermarket exhaust brake could be installed for $3500.00. This should have been an available dealer option to all dealers, however it looks like a promotion to sell newer trucks with the option already installed. 07.5's are all activated as well as 08's, many dealers here were having a hard time liquidating the remainder of the 07 trucks without e-brakes activated. Picked my C&C up for $10,000.00 under MSRP due to dollar fluctuation and inventory overstock on 07 trucks. PK

You can access the info for kit for your dealers information at Authentic Dodge .com > Trucks> Ram> 2500-3500> Performance> Exhaust Brake then scroll to bottom of page and the very last item for sale a 6.7 activation kit for $82.80. Dodge dealers can access part numbers from their side by using this info. PK

Thank you. I assume this activation kit is all I need. I believe my high idle works because in the morning when its cold and I let my truck warm up after about 5 minutes it idles up automatically and stays there until I take off.

I had the high PTO idle kit installed (900-1800 rpm) different than the cold warm up high idle system. DC engineering is working with the shop manager at my dealer to make it work, I can give you more info when we are up and functional. PK
