exhaust dump? bad idea or plausible?

truck will be done in 3 days but still will have to wait on shipping... considering the exhaust system on mine will have the bluetec goodness... just curious what you all think of a possible dump before all of that?
i have a huge dump pipe on my SRT-4 and just love the turbo sound that she makes when the plate is off...
could it be possible to do so with my CTD? would i be losing lots of backpressure and that sort of thing? i could possibly plumb it to a second set of pipes that shoot it down rather than just anywhere to avoid sootyness...
feedback appreciated...
sorry if its a noob thing to ask... i have searched and didnt find too much info other than a bunch of folks that are immediately calling for straight pipe... hehe...

from what i understand with all thsi new emissions crap you cannot mess with the exhaust because it has so many sensors on it, it wil go crazy. now with a 5.9 you can do whatever you want with the exhaust....well whatever is legal
oh i see cause then the sensors will bug cause they arent reading anything or reading werid numbers... i will see
I think the drone would be way too loud with a dump. I have a slight dump on mine, and that's just before the rear bumper. With all the windows down the drone is LOUD. But it sounds good. Just not on long trips.
yea... i just didnt know with the whole 6.7L and the BlueTec if the quick escaping exhaust would throw stuff off...
what i was thinking of doing was to cut back and turn down the stock exhaust output so as not soo visible... then put a nice side exit set of pipes that would b plumbed to the output of the cutout... but yea the sensors and all in the bluetec would possibly be thrown off... cause all of a sudden the pyrometer wouldnt have any exhaust blowing by it...

What's all this Bluetec talk?
There was no involvement by Mercedes in the development of the emissions systems on these trucks nor any of the Bluetec joint venture companies.
You are supporting the Germans by allowing them to piggyback off of the hard work of Americans (Cummins/Dodge).
Please, no more references to our trucks and Bluetec.
Sorry to rant, but Daimler has stripped enough from Chrysler, we don't need to support them too.
Anyway, the 6.7L does make soot/black smoke, its just that the dpf catches it all.
How did you order a 3.9 rear? 3.73's and 4.10's "for now".

as far as the bluetec I'm just tryin to understand it since it is coming on my truck... i apologize
ppe has a program where you can do away with the dpf on the dmax lmm and I heard they are working on something for our 6.7s imagine how strong they will be when they can actually get the air out.
Wunderwood, You need to have some faith, It will happen sometime just a few bumps in the road right now. I know the Diesel gods will shine down and helps us out someday..
Hopefully oneday we will see 6.7s blowin black smoke.
