68 rfe again.....

Hello guys' searched lots of pages and could not come across an issue that my trucks tranny is doing. Okay firstly only when it's like minus 20 or lower will this occur, never in warm temps. What's going on is that after truck has run through warm up of 15 minutes or so I'll jump in throw the trans. in gear- forward/rev. and only occasionally it will lock up lunging the truck until I throw the selector into neutral! One day the motor even stalled when I went from reverse to forward, locked up solid. I had work done on the valve body, re bore new solenoid pack and gasket to body install new filters and oil and reprogram. Every once in a while when leaving from a cold start there's a shudder or vibrating sound comes from somewhere and feels like the truck is dragging the brakes. Nobody has given me an answer or idea and am I supposed to rebuild the whole trans. on a whim?

Okay you say torque issue, what's that? Is it loose or falling out what do you mean? Am I supposed to go and pay someone to pull the tranny and install a new torque on a whim? How can it or the pump be proven to be faulty? This is a very expensive job!!!

Torque Converter. possible worn out and failing, not unlocking, etc. The symptoms you've explained and what you've all ready done tends to point to this area. How many miles do you have on it? Do you have ANY codes for anything?

If your not sure what the torque converter is, I would find a reputable transmission repair shop and have them check it out. Your likely not experienced enough to be working on it without potentially causing more problems than you already have on your hands.

You said you already had some work done on your transmission, by whom and why was this work done? If the trouble your having doesn't happen while at the transmission shop it's pretty hard for them to fix an issue that doesn't present itself while in their hands. If you feel it has to be fixed and cannot duplicate the symptoms the only other way to find it is to open you transmission up to find it.
