Turbo shaft play
How much play is too much? My SuperB has about 50k miles, and it has a lot of shaft play. Do I need a rebuild or something? Or do I need another turbo? I can’t afford another $1k or so to get another turbo. How hard is it to rebuild a turbo?

I'LL BE INTERESTED TOO MY htb2 62/12 has a lot of shaft play and thats at 18k miles. i dont do hot shut downs, idle it down to 300deg pre turbo and for typically 1-2 minutes after stopping. nothing in and out but hte up and down play is significant compared to my 03 stock turbo with 80k miles on it

a couple hundred isn't too much. What about rebuild kits. is this something anyone can do?
Also, will the turbo eventually fall apart if I wait too long?
