Talking Dear Dodgezilla,

Well DZ,

Iif you hadn't seen the thread on my Saturday with a 6.7, then you know I'm planning on upgrading to the new and improved combo. A 6.7 with a 6-speed auto. After a long marriage to many 5.9 combos over two different gens, I am excited. The 06 is sold and I'm walking. Well close to it. I'm in a GT PT Cruiser loaner car. For how long I don't know.

I am looking for access into your Keeping It STOCK club and possibly the Goofball Club.

I'll keep you all posted.

Chris

Well, It looks like you could be president of the

"I don't keep a truck very long before I get rid of it for a new one" club. I was the president but it looks like you have taken over.......

I'm glad you got yours sold so you could get into a new one. I'm still loving mine and am still very glad I switched over. Well, except for the poor mileage and the fact that I have to drive it hard at least once a week to keep the CELs away. (The second part is really kind of fun so I don't really have a problem with that...)

The poor economy will help you keep it in the "Keeping it Stock" club.(It has for me)
And as far as the "Goofball" club. Well, I think you are a shoe-in for that......

I was in Maryland last week and saw a new CTD at a dealership with a banner on it stating "$13000.00 off"

I'd be trying to find a dealer like that right now if I was looking for a truck...

I had ordered my 2007.5 RAM 3500 MegaCab on March 23rd.......my new truck arrived the Friday before Memorial Day near the dealership's closing time; no prep Friday, closed Monday, so I had to wait until Wednesday May 30th before I could get the Blue Bus home.

The wait was painfully horrible; at least the wife's 2005 Jeep Liberty Limited 4x4 CRD got me through an occasional #2 fix now and again.

You'll like the 6.7L and the 68RFE, Chris.

If you are willing to fly in and make a break-in run home, look at Tomball Dodge in Tomball, TX. They are advertising $15-16K off sticker; i haven't seen a deal better than that just yet. The dealership in my town now has a sign up that states 45% off MSRP for all Dodge Ram 1500s but that doesn't apply here.

He works at a Chrysler dealership so I'm sure he can find a great deal in NC if he looks. I got my last two trucks from NC because their prices are so much better than here in Va too.....

I got my '08 in NC as well. That was before the bottom fell out of the truck market, though. I've kept tabs on the dealership I bought my '08 from (Steve White Motors) and they don't seem to be selling much cheaper than they were last December, so maybe the NC truck market hasn't been hit quite as hard as the TX truck market because, last December, there is no way in HELL you would find a CTD Dodge for $10K+ off sticker in Texas. Believe me, I think I talked to every Dodge dealer in the state trying to get them to price match Steve White. Now Tomball Dodge is offering $6K more of a discount from MSRP than what I paid. Just thought I would pass on some information...

Nothing wrong with that. I even looked at trucks in Texas when I was buying my 07. The deals were great but I didn't feel like driving there to pick up a new truck and then drive it back.
I wasn't trying to put your idea down BTW. I was just stating that with his connections he will probably find a good deal closer to home. But, if he is still looking then that may not be the case....

I couldn't believe my ears, but the salesman at my local Dodge dealer told me 50% off any truck in stock! They had a sweet looking Inferno Red 4x4 with Toyos and chrome rims for $46k sticker. If it could truly be had for $23k plus fees I'd be shocked!

Looks like I'm married to my truck for the forseeable future. Resale values around here are a joke...

DZ04, We don't call you #2 for nothing...

I wish I could have waited to buy my new truck. Had I only known........ Of course, I would have gotten much less for my trade-in too....

Man! Don't even get me started about that subject. If I could learn to be happy with a vehicle that wasn't new or almost new I'd have a whole whole whole whole whole lot more money in the bank....

There was this one time I was going to Rockingham and I passed a truck at a fuel station that had a Va license tag that said WAS RICH. Anybody know this guy?

Boy, glad I didn't choose DZ in my user name

Now, if I'm gonna be hanging out in this forum, I'm considering a flak suit.
