couple quick questions

Hey folks, haven't been here in a while but had a couple questions regarding my 2007.5 6.7

1. Oil pressure started fluctuating.. Not sure why, but is there a regulator somewhere that can be changed? Seems to start off below 40psi, then when i accelerate goes up over 40, moves pretty quick... It never did this in the past and was curious.

2. Perform service light. Is there a specific filter that needs to be replaced or sensor to keep this light from coming on? Dealer reset it during my last oil change, but came back on next day.

Thanks for all your help!
Dan

How many miles do you have? Ever replaced the CCV filter?

got 175k miles on it and have never heard of that filter.

I believe that is supposed to be replaced every 65K miles. And the system is supposed to remind you of this and there is a procedure to reset notification.

The oil pressure sounds a bit like wear. At idle it is lower due to miles and some wear but then goes up normal fast so probably nothing to worry about.

Iirc the oil pressure indication is a calculated value and not the actual reading. I don't remember what the ECM references to derive the calculated number but unless you have an aftermarket gauge/sending unit you really don't know what your oil pressure is.

I know this doesn't help you determine if you have a problem or not but you can see if anyone knows if you can access the ecm data for the actual reading or not. Maybe an edge insight or diagnostic tool?

My first thought is to assume the oil pressure sender is going bad.
