Coolant Milky Pink
Well, my engine light came on yesterday afternoon so I got home and checked under the hood, and noticed my coolant in the over flow was kind of pink and milky looking. I took it to the dealer this morning and sure enough I have a internal leak in the oil cooler and its pushing transmission fluid into the radiator. Luckily, the dealer is going to warranty it and even paid for a rental truck for me to use. They said I will have to pay a $100 or $150 deductable for the work and I really don't mind but I started to wonder if this is covered under the cummins 5 year 100,000 mile no deductable warranty. The truck has 71,500 miles on it. Anybody know whats covered and whats not?

Anybody had this problem?
|
I've never experienced it but you can message member cbrahs and I bet he can answer your question. Have a good one!

I just picked it up today and paid the deductable. Well worth the $100 to have the radiator and "transmission" oil cooler replaced, and the system flushed.
Thanks |
I was unaware that stock 6.7's had an oil cooler. I don't think mine has one. Am I wrong? If so, where's it located?
|
sounds like it was the transmisson cooler in the raditor that started leaking.
|
That what I was talking about. The "transmission cooler" Thats why the fluid turned pink. Sorry for the confusion.

The transmission oil cooler within the radiator would not be covered under the Cummins warranty. Do you have an extended warranty on your vehicle?
The only vehicles I have seen with this issue are the Nissan xterra's, it was a massive problem for Nissan. |
You are correct. It was covered by the dealer warranty where I bought my truck.
Thanks |
