Converting DRW to SRW

Thinking of ordering the EMS offroad kit for the single rear wheel, also either building a flatbed or finding a new takeoff single wheel bed. Then slappin on a set of 19.5's and calling it good. Whats everyone's thoughts or ideas? Dont forsee any problems as of right now but I guess we will see.

Where in Or. are you. I've been trying to do the opposite for a while now. Haven't got everything together to do it yet.

On the old trucks with the dana 80 the DRW axle was about 3" widder over all than the SRW, I would guess that the AAM would be the same. You could just swap to SRW wheels but it would realy be better for you two to get together and swap everything out on your trucks (axle, frount hub spacers, tires, and beds) It ould be done in very long day by two people but if you could get some help would be good. The rear axle would be easy wit just 4 U-bolts, 4 bolts on the pinion yoke, E-brake cable just un clips form the frame, and the 2 brake lines, put both trucks on jack stands and swap them both at the same time. I have done it and there is nothing to it. Then you both get every thing you need.

I am down by Lebanon when I am up in OR. Right now I am in CA. On the trucks with the AAM 11.5 both SRW and DRW have the same axle length correct?

Sent you a pm.

The dually axle is a little wider to accomodate the width of the extra wheels. I could have bought some spacers to do the conversion on my truck, but overall I wanted the axles, & everything swapped out.

Two hour job

Well pulled the fenders off (really easy to unbolt) pulled the spacers off the front axle slapped on a set of single wheels and good to go[guitar] I thought it was going to be a somewhat complicated job was very easy. My Bed does have the holes where the fenders were mounted but for a 2mpg increase I can live with them.
