Checked For Codes, Now CEL Stays Lit

Here we go with this CEL thing again. The light has been lit almost constantly for a while now but usually would go off for a very short period of time before reappearing. I checked for codes by turning the ignition key on-off-on 3 times and came up with a series of dashes on the odometer. After a few seconds the word "done" showed up, but no codes were identified. The weird thing is that now my CEL is on constantly and has never shut off as it did before I did the code check. I think something is amiss because of my checking for codes. Did I do that or is something more seriously wrong with the truck? This is my 1st diesel and I DO love the truck except for this CEL issue. Thanks for your help...Ed

Do you have the recall done yet? What update version do you have? Even if you did have it done I would take it to the dealer to find out what's amiss, Do you have a catalyst message on the overhead, I don't believe you were the cause of the CEL to remain lit, I think the code is now a stored code and not a active one, Keeping the CEL lit. What were the codes you were having with the CEL?
Even so I think you should take it to the dealer.
I'm sorry I can't be more helpful than that

It's been updated

I had the G30 recall performed a few weeks ago. This CEL thing has been ongoing for months. The latest code read by the dealer reads, "turbo charger boost pressure not detected".

When I tried the key thingy the first time I briefly saw a code displayed but lost it before I could copy it down. Now, as I stated, I just get those dashes on the odometer and a final message that reads "done". I'm taking her back to the dealer tomorrow to get the light turned off and pressure him for another service appointment to resolve this issue. It's not right for a brand new truck to be at the dealership so often, but I know by reading these forums that I'm not alone. I still have faith that someday she'll be a fine vehicle once D/C steps up to the plate (I hope!). Thanks for your input...Ed

The 6.7 should not be code read by flipping the key switch three times. One, it accomplishes nothing and two, it can generate incongruence between expected sensor readings and then set codes that will have to be cleared with a real scan tool.

There are some well known problems with the 6.7 setting strange codes, and supposedly Dodge is working on a solution. This is just a case of having to bite your lip and wait for them to figure out a solution. Fooling around trying to do a key flip code read just confuses matters and sends technicians chasing ghosts.
