Well I unplugged the egr and all has been good for the year. I plugged it back in to get it to turn off . I did the 5 cycle over and over and it won't turn off and its been over 100 miles of driving .any ideas ?

 

Take it to autozone and have it cleared out.

 

My dad had a obd tool from innova or or something like that. Cleared it but came back on the next day

 

The code said egr

 

It Is probably sooted up and can not move and needs to be cleaned.

 

i was thinking the exact same thing how do you clean it ? is there maybe a detailed thread that does a how too ? im looking in the search bar but nothing is coming up?

I think it is a simple procedure. Just make sure you remove the motor before spraying and cleaning. Be also careful with the seals and you should be able to do this using cbrahs PDF.

 

Just leave it unplugged and don't worry about the light .
Or, delete it and get a programmer .

You probably need to be 100% stock all the time though?

I encountered the same situation after plugging my EGR back in (CEL stayed lit permanently). I simply erased the code with my code reader and the CEL hasn't returned since.

 

I have to check and get back to you on the code. I did turn of the code it came back on the following day. Made an apointment with dealer for Monday gonna play the stupid card.

 

ok well im still at it and this is an update . i removed the egr cleaned it out as required reinstalled it . i cleared the code and upon restart light cam back on the trouble code is p235b if i rememeber right it says egr not regenerated as many times as required? im guessing the code is saying i havent regen'd enough but *** do i do ? i have my apointment on monday but i would like to fix myself if possible ?
