CCV Filter
This may be old information but I wanted to pass along what I picked up in the past week from this forum and others. My Perform Service Light came on and I was at first thinking big problems but a quick search of this forum and found the procedure to change the filter and reset the light. When I called the dealer they immediately quoted 600.00. I found the filter on Geno’s and ordered when it came it had a Fleetguard # that is what I wanted to pass along It is #4936636. Dollars are tight right now and I did a search and found some good prices using the Fleetguard #. Thanks for all the help from everyone on this forum I don't do a lot of maintenance anymore but when I can save 600 big ones I'll attempt it. Oh and the reset info provided by blake worked first time!!

How did you clear the code? Edit: Found it.. PERFORM SERVICE INDICATOR - RESET The “Perform Service” message will display on the EVIC each time you turn the ignition switch to the ON/RUN position to indicate a emission maintenance is required. To reset the “Perform Service” indicator system (after performing the scheduled maintenance) refer to the following procedure: 1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position (Do not start engine). 2. Press and release the brake pedal two times. 3. Fully depress the accelerator pedal slowly two times within 10 seconds. 4. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF/LOCK position. |
600 bucks, man what a rip off. I never thought of re-routing the hose to delete the filter. GREAT IDEA!!
Will be my next mod when I get a chance. If you have pics or parts list please post for us. |
the junk inside the filter is glued in, carefully pry the 2 halves of filter apart (there is 4 posts) and make sure its warm when u do it. plastic is very brittle, then i repeatedly stabbed the filter material with screwdriver to make it bendable and it popped out
