I have always changed mine every 3000 miles. Old habits die hard.
The way I looked at it is an LOF is cheap. Everytime I fill my tank these days it's $85. Equals about two or three oil/filter changes.
With all the emissions plumbing and DPF Regening going on, I figure the oil is getting even worse. Might as well do it at 3,000 miles.
