Bombing a 6.7L

I know that your warranty will be voided if you bomb a 6.7L, but that is not really any different than bombing a 5.9L. Why do people seem so leary of bombing the 6.7's, what are they afraid of?

it will happen... there just aren't any electronic devices on the market for the 6.7L yet... everything is still in test phases.

I know stuff is coming. I voided the warranty on my 02 three weeks after I bought it. I am just wondering what people are paranoid about. The aftermarket will adapt to the emission system.

But even though someone will make workable systems to bomb they will tamper with the emissions system and in states requiring emissions testing they may not pass. Then what. Also from a prior post Dodge is taking a more reactive stance on modifying, any mods, no warranty. So you have to decide for your self, is the end result worth it....just my oponion.

it's kinda hard to say right now but give it like one month or two
for people to try it out. but it is said it doesn't bother the particulate filter.

It will be interesting to see what EGTs will be since the particulate filter is in place. Now if they could manage to fool the ECM into thinking the particulate filter is there when it is not... Then you could really see some gain with that exhuast restriction gone. Of course it would void the warranty but we all know that already. I guess the other option is to make a bigger particulate filter that can flow more.

As far as I know installing a aftermarket doesnt void your warranty, if you have a problem related to the part you installed then you should have to pay for that part of the repair. I have a EDGE on my truck and if my clutch fails then I should pay for the repair, not Dodge. But if my power windows stop working then Dodge should pay. I am lucky though as my dealer has no problems with me having the box on my truck, just if someone comes out to inspect my truck for a claim to please take the box off.

The dealers are bad, no question about it...but the reason they are bad is people seriously believe they can and are entitled to throw 50% more power on the engine than it was designed for and when something breaks....they take it in for warranty. I think the ones out of control are those who barely have the $$ to afford an edge, but then when something breaks they are screaming bloody murder because they can't afford to fix it.

You can't complain about the dealer voiding a drivetrain warranty if you are messing around with the drivetrain. Sure, I play..but if it breaks..I pay. If you can't afford to do so....stay on the porch with the rest of the kitties.

It seems like anybody post about a 6.7 performance people start talking about voiding warranty. They will void a 5.9 just as fast as a 6.7 it doesn't matter what motor you.
