Are you sure it isn't PO241?

P0241 code definition
Turbocharger Boost Sensor B Circuit Low

What the P0241 code means
P0241 is a generic OBD-II code triggered when the Engine Control Module (ECM) detects the intake boost pressure sensor B input circuit low below specifications, indicating a short to ground in the sensor or wiring.

What causes the P0241 code?
The turbo boost pressure sensor B is internally shorted to ground.

The turbo boost pressure sensor B connector is damaged, causing a short to ground.

The turbo boost pressure sensor B wiring is shorted to ground between the sensor and the ECM.

What are the symptoms of the P0241 code?
The Check Engine Light will be illuminated and code set

The engine turbo boost may be turned off by the ECM and the engine will lack power

The engine may lack some power during acceleration if the boost sensor circuit is shorted and cannot input the correct amount of boost pressure to the ECM

How does a mechanic diagnose the P0241 code?
Scans codes and document the freeze frame data in order to verify the problem

Clears the codes to verify whether the concern comes back

Checks the operation of the boost pressure sensor signal and compares it to the MAP sensor

Checks the turbo boost sensor wiring and connector for any signs of shorts in the harness

Checks the turbo boost sensor connector for corroded pins that may cause shorting of the signal circuit

Common mistakes when diagnosing the P0241 code
Follow these simple guidelines to prevent misdiagnosis:

Try disconnecting the sensor to see if the short and code goes away, or a different code is produced.

Check the harness for shorted circuits from loose or hanging wire looms.

How serious is the P0241 code?
A short in the sensor circuit will cause the engine ECM to disable the turbo boost until the problem is fixed and the code is cleared. This will cause a loss of power on acceleration.
What repairs can fix the P0241 code?
Replacing the boost sensor if it is shorted internally and not giving the correct input pressure reading to the ECM

Repairing the wiring harness if any shorts are found, and securing the harness from excessive heat.

Cleaning or replacing any corroded connections

Replacing the ECM if it is shorted internally

Additional comments for consideration regarding the P0241 code
Code P0241 is triggered by the intake boost sensor circuit shorted signal to the ECM. The most common failure is that the boost sensor internally shorted or the harness has been shorted on the exhaust manifold from a loose harness touching the exhaust system.
