If they offered to buy it back, take the deal and get an '08. Then, get a DPF delete and EGR delete and an Edge Juice w/Attitude or Bully Dog PMT to clear the codes at startup. Your truck will run perfect and you won't have any codes during driving. Once the code-free versions of the DPF delete and the EGR delete is out you can upgrade to those and you will no longer need the PMT or Juice w/Attitude to clear the codes on startup.

H&S has code free setups in Beta testing right now. Once they are done then those of us with the non-code free kits can pay to upgrade....

My truck has never seen the dealer since I bought it. If it had been there many times and Dodge offered to buy it back and give me a brand new one without costing me any money I would jump all over that. Some of these trucks have absolutely no problems. Maybe the new one would be one of those. I thought mine was one of them, and it was for the first 7000 miles. After that I have had constant codes,CELs, and dingers going off. I'm not ready to give up on the truck though like I would have in the past. I plan on keeping this one for a long time.....

Have been driving with the CEL on for months. It means nothing. Truck runs great.
Wouldn't pay $10 to turn off the silly light. Think of it as your engine on light.

i wouldn't mind the light, but the overhead chime every ten minutes would irritate the heck out of me!

If I did not clear codes before start with the Insight mine would also ding every 10 minutes. Since I disconnected the electrical connection to the pressure sensor mounted beside the transmission I only get the CEL and no dinger or overhead message. I do not need to clear codes and for that matter would not require the Insight.

Has anyone removed the EGR plate - but not the shaft - so that the ECM can still drive the motor where it wants it (so blade position is satisfied through the motor's shaft position sensor), and the harness can be left in place?

That should eliminate any code issues generated from the exhaust side of the EGR, while the downstream EGR blockoff plate is decoupling the exhaust & intake tracts...

Are you referring to modifying the shaft inside the actual EGR solonoid? If so, i understand your reasoning though I am not very familiar with the inner workings of an EGR. This is definately something worth looking into. Shoot Mike, you are the innovator here, why not give it a whirl?

Are there any pressure sensors inside the EGR though that would, when the EGR is plugged back in, indicate through a DTC that there isn't any exhaust gas pressure being passed through the EGR into the intake? If so I think that could cause a problem.

Blaze away, man. I can't wait to see what you'll come up with. I'd love to turn the "clear codes at startup" feature off my Edge someday...

20.5 mpg on level 1. Has anyone noticed a difference with the addition of an Airaid or should I leave it alone ?

Anybody put in new nozzles of any of these trucks? Is it worth the $$$, to get extra ponies? I haven't really seen any truck put any decent hp onto the dyno at any of the mets that I've been at. I haven't landed on whether I should buy one. Any body have warranty issues yet?

There's a guy in Washington that posts on cumminsforum that has a functioning set of twins set up. He has 120hp nozzles on the way. He's still working on a boost fooler so he can go over 37psi but it looks VERY promising. he is going to have a kit ready to mass produce once he gets it functional and reliable on his personal truck.

HANDSOME-i haven't seen any posted evidence of an aftermarket intake doing anything worthwhile. i didn't mess with mine (just replaced the stock filter with an Amsoil nanofiber) but that is mostly due to the extremely dusty conditions i spend alot of time driving in.
