Alright. I think I have found the best deal I'm gonna get on a new system w/ the DP and EGR plates and I will probably order it today. Is anybody just using a plain old code reader/eraser to clear their codes? Can you do this once the truck is running?
Thanks

I couldn't tell you that. I have just used the Edge to clear the codes.

Well, thanks to you Sloverado I got the best deal possible on my kit. I really appreciate it. I can live with the CELs since I am already used to them over the past 3000 miles. If I can clear the codes without a Juice/Attitude then I will get one of those devices but if not then I'll just put some tape over the CEL so I don't have to look at it all the time. Man! I can't wait to update my sig.......

H&S Stage II w/ the DP and EGR plates. I was leaning towards the BADP kit but with the EGR setup they have, you have to remove your EGR instead of just blocking it off. That's what I was told anyways.
H&S is working on a code free kit and once it's perfected then we can upgrade our box for a small fee. Sounds good to me......

I use an Edge Insight to read and clear codes. It also has all the gauges you could possibly want and more. Easy to install, just plug into OBD outlet. No extra power but costs way less then regular gauges.

Any code reader can clear the DPF and EGR codes at startup. You just need to turn the key to the "run" position, clear the codes, then remove the scanner and start the truck. Your codes will stay cleared until you shut the truck off. It will be the same as having the Edge or PMT just manually instead of automatically. You could also look into something like the Edge Insight or MSD Dashhawk, as they are digital gauges that can clear codes but don't add any power as ron b just stated.

Good work guys. I might actual think about buying one now. It would be good to buy a truck that gets better fuel mileage than the last one. My neighbor has a 2008 6.4L Ford, he's getting around 10 to 12 mpg. That has to be costly ride.

I have a customer with a new F450 dually with every option. He paid $60,000.00 for it and he can't get any better than 12 mpg either....

This is an AWESOME thread guys, I was thinking about doing the straight pipe from BADP earlier this year but got skeered. Now reading this thread and all the ones that have done it and loved it, it's going to get done real soon.

Does H&S or BADP have a lead time on the code free kits???

BADP is talking about packaging and shipping the code-free kits next week. probably be a little longer than that for yours since all the guys that have had theirs ordered for 3+ months have top priority. Not sure on H&S.
