Ya you might wanna just do the minimum cause let me tell ya, when I took off my cooler it was a pain in the rear. I wont forget there was this one nut in the front that was nearly impossible to get off. I cursed and then had to drink another beer. If something happens to where i have to put it back on, im going to hate life......but with all that said im extremely happy with it off.

I know that same nut. 15mm Craftsman wrench was permanently modified to take it off. Only other way would be with a crows foot and i had none. Tried for an hour before that wrench got sacrificed to the deletes gods. [laugh]

Didn't grind mine. Stuck it in a vice about two inches from the box end and got a big hammer and beat about a 45 degree angle into it. Was ableto get it on the nut and still clear that water housing.

Yeah . You cant trust diesel junkys to keep their word on something like that.[laugh]
Its kinda like the whole adam and eve story. dont eat the forbidded fruit. welp there is to much temptations such as a but load of performance and mpg gains if you know how to handle the go pedal.

Have you ever driven in South Louisiana....

Even I-10 is off road.

MPG with Smarty JR

Just did a quick test run down the Road. I'm impressed 23.4 MPG compared with 16.8 before. These numbers came from the OH Liar so I'm sure they are not exact but as a comparison it's impressive. If they are anywhere near close I'm getting better in the Truck than in the Subaru.

Id say 20 is likely. 23+, Id really love to believe that.

Of course run over to your local blue oval hang out and see how many of them 6.4 guys are getting 20. [laugh]

I'm really chomping at the Bit to do an actual milage check. I have to go to my Daughters House on Saturday for my Grandsons 20th B'Day. It's a little over 70 Miles each way so I'll be able to top off going and coming back. I'll take my GPS so I'll have an actual. Still a HAPPY CAMPER with the new results.

Well, I did the run to my Daughters and topped off before leaving and when I got back. The round trip distance was 142.3 Miles verified by GPS and included a climb to 3200 ft over a 5 mile stretch. Ave MPH 60, MPG 22.8. Smarty JR was set at SW2 (the Tow setting), truck was empty.

Ist that hand calculated or off the overhead. Cause if that is hand calc then that is awesome.

You have a 4x4?

CE Zero Mar 7, 2010 10:56 AM

Blake that's hand calculated. It took 6.24 Gallons to go 142.3 Miles (according to the GPS). It was a combo of Highway and Backroads driving South from Vancouver, Wa on I-205 then along the Clackamas River Road in Oregon and back. Yep it's a 4X4.
