6.7 cel
My stock 08 6.7 with 22,000 miles just recently started showing the CEL but runs just fine. After a few ignition switch cycles it goes away.I tried pulling the codes with the ignition switch cycle shown here and get absolutely nothing.Would rather not pay a dealer to check codes for me but getting ready to leave on 3,000 mile trip and don't want any problems.I went from lock to off and paused then on,off,on,off on.What am I doing wrong?

Are you out of warranty?
Most auto parts stores will read codes for free. |
Your sig. doesn't show where you are located and since it is winter; my old 5.9 and now my new 6.7 will show the CEL sometimes when it is really cold and I have to cycle the preheat more than twice. The CEL stays on for maybe one or two starts then goes away.

Actually I'm in Florida right now so that's not it. I will try the local Advanced Auto Parts store and see if they will pull them for me.Thanks.

Just an update.Had Advance Auto read code for me.I read P-226B which he said is turbo boost pressure not detected. On the list there is a P-2262 that states this.Did I misread the screen and what could cause this code? The truck is running fine and getting better fuel mileage as time goes on.I did put a thinner air filter in it as I could not find the correct year filter at the time I changed it.Consequently this is when my fuel mileage began to get better.

The first time I received that code was an indication of the emmisions system clogging up. I had it cleaned and checked at the dealer and then deleted the NOX/DPF/EGR. Youre turbo is getting clogged. You need to run with the exhaust brake on as much as possible to keep variable geometry moving its full range. I suggest running the correct air filter and deleting this stuff.

I have run the truck with the brake on all the time since I bought it and never let it idle more than a minute.Just pulled my 14,000 lb 5ver 280 miles today and truck ran fine but CEL never went off. I can't believe after all that it still is sooting on me.I'm not a happy camper.(Deletes are NOT an option due to emissions inspections).[verymad]

Being intermittent like that sounds more like a connector or sensor issue.
