refill capacity on 68RFE when changing filter?

If i drop the pan off of the ole girl, change the filter and refill it without doing a full flush/fluid exchange (not trying to start that whole discusion again) how much does it hold? just want to make sure i have enough fluid around before i drop the pan off of it

Thanks
Wade

Yup. Seemed like close to 6 -6.5 litres when I dropped the pan (and its a mess). The Mag Pan will help in that regard next time

When I dropped mine it was about 6 to 7. I read somewhere that it was only 4 or 5, had to run out and get more.

Just remember that there are 2 filters in there. And they say you should take the old o-ring out of the pan filter. Mine would not come out so it got reused.

so is the spin on filter a smaller micron rated in the return line or just another standard filter?

I needed 7-8 ltrs, I let the trans drip drain for some time though, might of had something to do with it. always wipe the pan down and clean the magnet off, don't forget to put it back in the pan,
