2008 No start no codes please help
Gentlemen,
I apologize for not having done my due diligence but I am in a bit of a bind here and would greatly appreciate everyone's input.
I work offshore and was supposed to leave my house for crew change last night at 3am. I went out and started my pickup to get it warmed up. After about 30 seconds of running it just died; no hiccups, no stutters, no indication at all that there was anything wrong. It was running great at 8pm when I parked it.
I checked for codes with Smarty; there were none. I cleared codes anyway. Tried to start again, it fired up and ran for about 10 seconds then died the same way as the first time. I did this a couple more times with the same results, each time checking for codes and each time finding none. I returned my programming back to stock and started the truck, which it started and ran for about 10-15 seconds then died again. This time there were 4 codes present, all EGR related due to having taken the ECM back to stock. I cleared the codes, reloaded Smarty, and tried again. Same result, though this time it only ran for about 5 seconds before dying. Tried 3-4 more times after reloading Smarty, no codes, no start. While Smarty was loading I checked under the hood and under the vehicle. There are no leaks, no busted lines, nothing looks to be unplugged, nothing abnormal.
From here I got to thinking perhaps because my driveway is at a downward angle (and I'm backed in) and I have just under 1/4 tank of fuel that maybe the lift pump can't catch prime. I pop the parking brake and coast into the street. Tried to start again, no start. Went to get 5 gallons of diesel in a diesel can, put it in the pickup; now it is showing about 3/8 tank. Tried to start, no start. After about 5-6 attempts to start without it starting at all, i checked for codes again and the skim key code popped (I attribute to the off-on-off-on of trying to start the pickup). I cleared the codes and, just in case, went in the house and grabbed my spare key. Still no start.
Delete/engine modification info:
5" TBE
EGR and cooler both deleted
Grid heater deleted
Stock fuel system
Stock intake with stock filter
Pertinent information (not necessarily all relevant but I'm shooting blind here):
-135700 miles
-I do not have a fuel pressure or rail pressure gauges, though they will certainly be bought and delivered while I am offshore this hitch and will be installed upon my return.
-Smarty has been installed for ~115000 miles and has been on V17ME and SW0 for the past ~90000 miles.
-New Optima Red Top batteries last August.
-Installed a SBC 32500SDD last week (~400 miles).
-Oil changed last week.
-Replaced CCV filter last week.
-5700 miles since last fuel filter change. I am driving to the dealership immediately upon posting this to buy another fuel filter and replace it.
-Last tank of diesel was B100 from Houston Biodiesel; 5 gallons I put in this morning was dinosaur diesel.
-The truck has given NO indication of any kind of fuel system wear or failure. Neither it's operating characteristics or my driving habits have changed. As I mentioned earlier, the pickup was running fine at 8pm last night when I parked her.
-I can hear the lift pump motor priming normally before attempting to start. After it has died each time and after I stop cranking on it the lift pump motor continues for another 15 seconds or so.
I'm praying somehow the filter got clogged from the B100 and a new filter along with 5 gals of diluted dino diesel will get her started again. Please share some insight and diagnostic information in case it doesn't. I absolutely MUST have the pickup up and on the road by COB TODAY. Thanks guys.

Try the filter and fuel. Add a dose of diesel injector cleaner and try it. I recently had issues with a bad tank of fuel and running it out of fuel and a fresh tank cured my problems.
If a filter and fuel do not help it could be the lift pump in the fuel tank (tough job) or the fuel control actuator (easy to change and $120).

New filter and new fuel. I pulled the water bleed valve and bumped the starter, nothing. Pulled the filter and bowl and bumped the starter again, still no fuel. That tells me the lift pump is toast. Replacing with an AD150. Thanks for the reply.
