08 auto hard down shift
I have an 08 auto transmission that down shifts really hard with the tow haul on. this happens from 50 mph when coming to a stop. Anyone else experience this? It almost feels like the tires lock up. They don't but it feels like it. 38k miles.

Mine does this to and a lot of other people also report it. Doesn't seem to be an indicator of any problem, just hard down-shifting.

Yes, unless I'm mistaken that's the whole (or at least the major) point of having a tow/haul mode. Tow/Haul adjusts the downshift points so that you're at a higher rpm when downshifting and directly affects the effectiveness of the exhaust brake.

Its normal, but I think the AS flash softened it some in my truck.

I talked to a Dodge tech recently, and he said that the new 6 speed auto was intended for 'work' truck applications and really needs to be loaded to really perform. The truck and transmission like to pull trailers and be loaded. Without a load the down shifts in tow/haul feel extreme.
