Wierd egts
My uncle just came back from holidays and he took my truck to tow his boat up. Only reason being it gets way better mileage then his chevy with the huge 8.1 ltr. He loved it, got great mileage and pulled the boat great.
Now driving it today the temps are exactly normal to what they always are, 650 crusing down the highway, in park idling down to right below 300 but the funny thing is sitting in traffic still in Drive my egts will start climbing up to 450-500. The engine isnt reving up or anything just gets hotter.
Just curious what you guys think....maybe the torque converter doing something funny? Wouldnt mind getting my tranny done up soon.
Other thing that crossed my mind was this was the first time my truck has towed anything heavy for a long distance. And during the winter my truck smokes white on startup for few minutes. Is it possible that all the higher temps caused by towing maybe cleaned up my leaky injector and now instead of it dumping unused fuel during stopped and cooling it, its burning more efficiently and where it should be. Or maybe this is just a dream thats what happened lol.

i have duel pyros on both side of manifold and front 3 cly are 425 back three are 400 at idle sounds normal. i only see 300 in first few mins after start up or after idling for 5min or so during the winter...
