Hi.. I just got back from my local dealer getting some weatherstrip replaced under warranty. Last time I was there, I had the reflash done for white smoke (supposedly). They did not know anything about the TSB when I asked to have it done, and after I got home, there was no reflash sticker under the hood. I questioned them about this today, and the service manager told me they had trouble getting stickers at the dealership. Yeah, that's what he told me! The TSB states that this sticker is required by law (fed. ). My receipt did not mention any TSB for white smoke either. I would not think that this dealer would want to violate a federal law because they are short on stickers! What should I do about this? Can the current ECM software be checked as to which version is running? I have had enough of this dealer and will be going elsewhere next time

 

My guess is that they probably didn't do it..........

Unless the mechanic was working for free that day, I'd think it would have been on the receipt. Can't get stickers............uhhh...........yeah..........r ight.

 

When I went to install my Bully Dog Triple Dog, it told me mine wasn't done yet and to go do it before I did the install. I haven't yet cuz I wanted to play with it, and I hate to pay for them to do, but I will break down soon and have it done.

 

I don't know if they are required to put a tag on it or not if it has been updated. I know when the computer went out in my wife's 06 Sebring they replaced it, updated the code in it and they never put any sticker on the computer about it. But the paper work they gave me said they put a new computer in it under warranty.

 

Checked the TSB for white smoke.. at the end, it says NOTE:the following step is required by law. shows where sticker should be placed, filled out, etc. I am guessing it has been done though.. the truck does not seem to smoke much at all now. I've also noticed the truck seems to hesitate slightly on a
1st gear launch I'll try it out for sure after it sits a couple days.. cold starts after a couple days seemed to put me in the clouds
