When to change shocks???

I have about 148,000 miles and notice a clanking noise after I go over small bumps. Could this be the shocks??? Thoughts???

Looking at replacing all 4 with Bilstein's from Geno's. Good or bad?

The noise could be anything....

But 148K on stock shocks?

You are long over due if that's the case...

Bilstein's are a good choice.

I usually plan on changing shocks with new tires if that helps. I will also be putting on Bilsteins when I buy my next set of tires.

shocks

I've got over 170.000 miles on stock shocks. Are these gas charged??? I know I need some new ones .

The stock shocks typically last 35,000 miles.....

Im having the same clanking noise going over bumps. Mine sounds like the exhaust being loose but ive checked almost everything under the truck and it almost has to be the shocks. Ive also got 54k on them. Let us know if the new shocks cured your problem.

The shocks are ordered! I'll let you know how if the noise is resolved and how I like them.

Thanks everyone...

the truck should be really "springy" if the shocks are blown. w/150, you may have ball joint issues...

Hmmm... mine barely lasted 5000!

I replaced my stockers with Bilsteins when the truck had only 3k miles, and the difference was incredible! Highly recommended!

I believe the blue/yellow can be installed on the stock truck. That's what I bought. Take a look here for the part numbers.
