What year engines will work in my 03?

I have decided to keep my eye out for a used engine for my 03.
Obviously an 03-04 will drop right in.

BUT what about the 04.5 and 05?
Will these work with MY computer and electronics ?
Not worried about the turbo, but what about the 3rd event injection stuff ?
My 03 is a manual if it matters

You can buy a short block at www.wholesalemopar.com If you don't find a good used ENG.

Anybody???????????????

If i was to buy an 05 engine, what would i have to change to run it in my 03?
Are the heads the same??
I'm thinking that maybe I would need to run MY 03 injectors with the 05 tips to match with the pistons ??????????????????? If thats even possible.

Injector bodies are the same, the only difference is the tips and piston crowns. The complete 05 engine should drop in and work fine by using the 03 electronics and harnesses.

The 3rd event is only in the software so it doesn't even come into play. The difference in the injector tips is 8 hole to 5 hole and a different spray angle, but, I think they are roughly the same overall dimensions for delivery volume.

Yep... any 03-07 5.9 will work as long as you use the 03 electronics. If you use an 04.5-07 you may have to do some work with the WG, but thats super easy and the 04.5-07 has a better head and larger turbo.

Be sure to keep injectors/tips with the MY the block.. i.e 03-04 block must use 03-04 nozzles..
