48 re issues needing help
Ok, sorry if I’ve missed this fix in here somehow but:
I have an 06 CTD 2500 crewcab long box 4x4, bullydog running crazy Larry’s tune.
At 228k, trans went completely out, no gears at all.
Had a shop in Hendersonville ,NC rebuild to a stage 1 to handle the power, seems I grenaded my planetary gears! Also had new cooler lines, new low stall converter installed ( needed those cooler lines badly)
It now has 30k miles without issue UNTIL I let it sit 6 months while gathering parts to fix my a/c system.
As soon as that was fixed, I got the gov solenoid code! Just from it sitting?
Anyway, replaced both solenoid and transducer with upgraded HD ones (Gm version/ Goerend part), new fluid/ filter.
now for the NEW problem.....even when I could clear the code and get the trans to shift right this didn’t happen!
It now shudders just after it shifts into OD. I can power through it but it’s not right. Worst of all, because my trans won’t shift back to 3rd until I drop below 45mph ( has been that way since new) this torque monster keeps shuttering until I ease off throttle or get back to freeway speeds (65+).
Any ideas save dropping my pan again and adjusting the rear band? I know the front can be adjusted outside the case but 1-3 shifts are fine.
Please help. Can’t really afford a shop to fix it.
