vibration at idle
vibration at idle
Does any one else have an abnormal vibration at idle ??? the dealer has had the truck for another week now ,admits there is a vibration. but cannot figure it out.
Re:vibration at idle
First off you didn't say if you have an Auto or Manual Tranny. This info can make a big difference. The auto tranny does have a problem with a slight vibration due to the dip stick being tie wrapped to the heater hose on the passenger side.
Maybe this will help. 8)

Re:vibration at idle
Tell them to make sure nothing is grounding out on the chassis. If it is a slushbox do you have the vibration in reverse and drive? If only one way you usually have a grounding problem. If both ways you might have a engine mounting problem or imbalance. Sometimes the motor mounts need to me neutralized. HTH
Re:vibration at idle
Has the dealer done an engine power balance? If you have a miss at idle the truck will shake. Mine is a 6spd but quite smooth at idle. Not BMW smooth but I think it is good for an inline 6 oil burner.
