URGENT...Accept the order or re-order 48RE

Well, maybe it's not do or die urgent. My truck will arrive in a couple of weeks with the SO and 47RE. This set up is more than fine for my uses (7500# trailer), but are these trucks going to be de-valued with the emergence of the HO automatic? Like driving a new vehicle off the lot isn't already a big enough kick in the wallet. I guess if I'm in it for the long term it does not matter and I can tweak the power in years to come if I get bored. So what's the opinions of the experts, keep my order or tell the dealer there's a new plan that says HO + 48RE? I don't know if I could bare to wait two more months anyway.

If you can possibly stand the wait I'd get the 48re because if your anything like me you'll get unsatisfied very quickly and you'll want something bigger or better. If you're all ready at the top however you can't go any higher.

Re:URGENT...Accept the order or re-order 48RE

Thanks for the reply, Luke, and for the personal messages I got from others already. After all my talking and researching Dodge, Ford, Chev, my wife just about snapped when I told her I was contemplating re-ordering :. That was until I mentioned the risk of what it would be worth in the future...money talks . Now her opinion is "Cancel and re-order! What are you waiting for ya big dope?"

You better hurry. If the wife thinks it's a good idea to re-order and get a more expensive, more powerfull truck you better bale hay while the suns shinin.

Yep - I agree, reorder.

When I ordered my '03, I could have gotten a great deal on a '02 as there were still plenty to choose from. But, one of my considerations was the soon-to-be poor resale value of the '02 as soon as the '03's hit the street.

Don't take offense, my SO buddies out there. You've still got a great engine. But, you'll take more of a hit when you go to trade-in or sell than if you had a HO.

Best to y'all
Bill

I agree with all the others - re-order. If you don't, you'll always kick yourself for not holding out another measly 2 months for something you really want. I made that mistake myself, once.

Dealseaker -

You made the right choice - by ordering what you want now, and waiting a little longer, you'll have what you REALLY want.

Re:URGENT...Accept the order or re-order 48RE

What do dealers think about people changing orders late in the game.

Mine is due anytime, but am thinking about changing.

I assume they cannot change the engine and tranny on a truck already in the pipeline?????

No we can't change late in the game. If the truck you have ordered isn't anything to strange I wouldn't mind keeping it and ordering you something else, but that is just me. If you sell someone something thier not happy with they probably won't buy from you again. ???

That's exactly what my dealer said, Luke.
