U joint woes
Got driveshaft out and torched the epoxy locking tabs out of all 3 u joints. I have been pounding on the caps with a 3 pound sledge and an old socket for 2 hours and can't get em to move a millimeter. Anyone have any tricks they can share to get the old joints out of the yokes?
Thanks in advance. Gary |
Heat, and a ball joint press worked for me. If you have to reef on it too much, try more heat. You wouldn't want to spring the yoke.

Never liked beating on them. The right sized sockets and a good vise always worked as a press for me.
Ball joint press works well also. |
Second on the vise.
