This just started about two weeks ago...Mostly Black and I'm Smelling Fuel, Exhaust tip is black,,,,
Its Not using any oil,,, Took it to dealer, still under warranty and he replaced injector's # 1 & 3,,,flushed the injectors Still smokes @ idle??? He told me to drive the PiZZ out of it!!!

Runs smooth makes good power,,, Fuel economy is down a bit

I swapped out the fuel pressure regulator on the back of the CP3 and it seems like its a little better

I have not been towing much lately but will be hooking to a good load in a few days,,, I hope that clears it out????

Any Ideas on what would cause this???

what settings are you running on the smarty ?

 

I bet your cat is plugged. Make it fall off, get the EGT's up via towing and it should fix the issue.

My dads 06 smokes a little at idle, and I am 99% sure its the kitty arguing with the Smarty Jr.

 

got the smarty set low, been having the same thoughts about Kitty,,,,

Think Its time to loose it!!!!

Ill post up when I get it re arranged!!!!! and pull the Skid Steer and stump grinder to a few locations,,,,

 

Still got the kitty,,, but finally found a dealership who could diagnose that # 2 injector was returning too much fuel,,, so now have new injectors and tubes in Cyl's 1,2,&3,,,,, finally no more Hazing @ Idle!!!!

Any one know where I can find a stock Exhaust Manifold for the HO 5.9 that hasnt been tapped for an exhaust EGT Probe,,,,

Cause mine is cracked in two places and is leaking a bit @ the head!!!

not to mention my Turbo shaft has play and looks like Im getting some traces of Exhaust circulation back to the cold side

So it continues to stay parked till I get the turbo/exhaust manifold resolved
