Transmission Rattle

Does anyone out there know what might be the cause of a rattle which seems to be related to the transmission. I notice it when I go thru a drive tru. With the truck in Drive, there seems to be a rattle while the truck is stationary. As soon as I put the truck in neutral, the rattle goes away. I havn't really tried in Reverse as the people in line behind get nervous.

Do I need to go see the dealer or is this normal? 33,000 miles now.

is it a rattle inside the cab, explain a little bit more about it. if its what i had when i put my shifter into drive 2 or 1 it would make a horrible rattle sound in the cab, i checked under the hood and the transmission dip stick was rattling against the ac tube thing. i just added another plastic tie around it and tightened it up and it fixed it. hope this helps

No the rattle appears to be coming from the transmission. It is especially obvious when parked next to a wall that reflects the sound.

There was a TSB out on that a while back. They replace the clutch disk with one that has different dampener springs. It won't hurt anything but some find it annoying. I left mine like it is.
