transmission pan torque and sequence

I am installing a bung in my transmission pan and was curious if anyone knows the torque value and sequence for the transmission pan? Also, would you recommend changing the gasket or if the one on my truck looks okay reinstall it? Thanks for your replies, BEAS

I've reinstalled many , not sure what the TQ is about 40 in lbs , most any pattern is start in middle and work you way to the outside , start with snug , when all are snug , TQ to spec , same pattern .

Gaskets on the 48re Auto transmission and both differentials are reusable.

Thanks, I was hoping that would be the answer. I have 30K on my truck and was thinking of doing the tranny filter since I would be in there, what are your thoughts???

I have been in the repair bis for about 30 yrs , I almost never change anything with out testing , for AT , the easy thing to do is , when checking fluid level , put a dab on clean with paper towel , when the red/pink starts turning brown=burn , or starts smelling burnt , replace by flushing [ either your self or at a shop ] just dropping the pan only changes about 1/4 of the fluid , while the pan & filter are out , adjust the bands .
There no fluid / lube that I would not change at 20,000 , unless I use synthetics , bypass filter & testing .
Here's some info for adj.
