You are about the third person who has had dash light hiccups while in the snow. I suspect that some connection under the hood or at the tranny is not water tight and getting wet.

That's a good idea. My shop manual says that the light is activated when the temp sensor goes to ground......which could be caused by water in the connector(s).

You may want to check for a recall. I know that mine had a recall for the tranny to tranny cooler line that could possibly fex too much and cause the inlet connection to the tranny cooler to break and cause a tranny fluid leak which would inturn cause a tranny overtemp light
You may want to look into it and see if it al pplies to your truck.
