Trans/Filter change, how much fluid back in?

Going to change the trans filter later today, but I don't know how much fluid to put back in. Does anyone have an approx. amount to put back in. I have 7qts of Mopar atf+4, I'll most likely start with 4qts and take it from there, don't have time to do a search here, sorry for the same old question, Thanks

When I had my trans filter replaced it took 6.5 qt's of AFT even though Dodge told me it would only take 5 qt's so if you have 7 on hand your good to go.

just did mine. it took 5 quarts...start with 4 and let it warm up to op temp. put it in drive then reverse. check fluid and add from there. to properly get the right amount of tranny fluid. the engine has to be at operating temp then put it in drive. then in reverse then neutral. and check the fluid while its in neutral.

I could of bought it from Genos but after adding in the shipping cost I could buy it at my local Dodge dealer for the same price and that even included me paying state sales tax and I did not have to wait a week for it to arrive. I tried Napa first but they were to stupid and coul dnot find my 48 re transmission listed in there parts book

Mine was at the full mark when I started. I drained the pan into an empty oil drain pan and poured that into empty gallon oil containers that were left from my oil change and found that 6 1/2 qts had come out so that is what I put back in and that put me right back to full on the dipstick ( checked while engine running and trans. in N )
