tranmission question

Hi I have a 03 ram 2500 4x4 .
Recently the transmission has been acting up.

Sometimes the trans wont downshift into 1st when coming to a stop. After coming to a stop it takes off in 2nd.

The trans will sometime act ok and no problems other times it wont take off in 1st it seems to be starting in 2nd, however if you stop and turn off and restart the engine it will work fine... (limp home mode maybe?)

Also when stopped you can fell the trans slide into 1st not a clunk but a shift llike it goes into 1st. or when taking off from a start it will shift down quickly to 1st right off of idle like its in 2nd and with a few rpms it falls into 1st.

Also a different time after driving through deep water the overdrive wouldnt engage the trans seemed to be operating in the OD off mode. The cruise control wouldnt come on ( the light on the dash). After sitting a day it worked fine maybe water in connecter it seemed to fix itself.

There is 125k on the truck and a recent trans filter and oil change I found some fuzz on the magnet not alot but there was some, the oil didnt really smell burnt but didnt smell new.

anyway this problem has happened a few times over the last 50k miles but just stopping and restarting the truck would fix the problem. I really never gave alot of thought to it i figured a computer hic-up but it seems to be happening more often and any advise would be appriciated thank you
