Gotta odd question. I'll be towing a 6k lb trailor with a few items inside. Overall the weight will be around 8k all said and done. I was curious if anyone else out there remembered the gas mileage they averaged during a long haul with similar weight. I'm hoping to average 330 miles in between each gas up. Thanks in advance.

I get about 10 towing an 11,000lb high profile fifth wheel.

I'd expect you to get 12-13 with that trailer. If you average 12mpg that 27.5 gallons to go 330 miles. That leaves 7.5 gallons in the tank at each fill-up.

7.5 gallons is less than 1/4 tank. Personally,if I were towing my trailer across the country,I wouldn't be waiting that long to stop for fuel.

I learned my lesson driving a moving truck cross country with my brother in law. The cheap SOB thought fuel was too expensive at one station so he had me hit the next one. The next station didn't have diesel, and the truck was litterally sputtering when we finally found a station with diesel.[duhhh]

Averaged about 10-11 MPG pulling a 27' V-nose enclosed car-hauler Weighing about 10K lbs. About 300 miles between fillups. Found if I kept the speed down I'd see much better mileage. Doing 75 MPH I saw a significant drop.
