Torque Converter and Jacobs Brake on the 2006

How is the Jacobs brake tied into the torque converter when installed on the 2006? Is operation of the Jake brake/torque converter controlled by the ECM or manual switch?
Thanks for all the help you guys have given me!

Not quite sure of your question but the brake will only operate if the TC is locked up. there is a manual switch.

It's all programed to work together via the ECM. Just turn the Jake brake on is all you have to do.

Install the Mopar exhaust brake. It works with the factory wiring, has better warranty, and the best part is, it will not affect the factory warranty.

The 06 ECM controls the TC and e-brake.

Here's the Cummins page with the part numbers cross reference at the bottom:
Cummins Ram Braking

Here's the Jacobs page with their part numbers at the bottom:
Jacobs Light Duty

The 06 ECM will work with the e-brake down to ~22 mph. The TC on the 06 48RE will lockup on 2nd, 3rd and OD.

I know the Jacobs is the same as the Mopar and one hell of a lot cheaper from Cummins, both to purchase and have them install it. It would be covered under the Cummins engine warranty as well but only for 3 years or 36K miles.
LVTony - thanks for posting those links!

PS. Just called Southern Plains Cummins and they want $1079 plus 17% to order the Cummins/Mopar/Jacobs with $180+ shipping. It weighs less than 30 lbs! I won't be buying from either Cummins or the dealer!
Looks like it might be PacBrake for less than $700!

You'll be happy with the Pacbrake. It works good.

If I had to choose again, I would probably go with Pacbrake just because it is compressed air operated; whereas, the Jake e-brake is vacuum operated. It would be nice to have a tank of compressed air to run other things...
