I was wondering if it would be possible to run an aftermarket torque converter with a stock tranny. If it wont work what would i need to make it work?

great, im not sure which shaft it is either input or output but which is next after that. I want a transmission that can handle some power but nothing crazy until i can dump some real money in my truck.
