Tire Choices

Can you guys tell me what tires are available to fit my 3rd gen truck? I plan on putting 35's on my truck, so I quess I will need a leveling kit or lift right? How much lift to clear 35's? I know that these 17" wheels on these trucks really limit our selection of tires that we can put on them, so any help is greatly appreciated!

As far as I know the BFGs 315/70 17 (off of the hummers) that everyone is using is basically a 35x12.5 tire and they barely rub on a stock 4x4. I have the 2" tuff country leveling kit and next week I'm putting on the 315s with American Racing Atlas 660 series wheels. Can't wait!!! also Procomp makes a fairly affordable 33 and 35x12.5 All terrain tire that I have used in the past on a different truck that worked and looked nice.

for what it's worth, at the pump the other day a lady drove up with a 2500 hemi short bed quad cab 4x4 with 33" procomps and they looked like stock 265s!!!

Hopefully there will be a larger selection of tires when mine are needing replacement. One can only hope!!!;) :D

I have goodyear mtr 305/70/17 = 34.1" diameter on stock wheels. No Rubbing so far even on full turn.

052500#1,

How do those goodyear mtr ride? are they loud? do they vibrate going highway speeds? Is it a smooth ride?

Have any of you paid to have your speedometer reset to the size of your tires? If so what did you pay?

Thanks Jamie

ProComp has a new line of tires called the Xtreme All Terrain. They have one size that is 305/65R17. That might be another nice looking tire. The only place i've seen them for sale is 4wheelparts.com

They will probably look similar to the Nittos, but will be a little stronger of a tire.

Hey Graphite! Which rims do you have? I just posted on the performance forum that my 315's are rubbing bad. I have the alloy OEM"s. They are rubbing both top and bottom bars. My 03 Hemi didn't rub nothing like this.

Good luck! Usta

I'm willing to bet they aren't cheap. KORE lists them for $325 EACH on his web site.

I have had several sets of these on several trucks! Great in fact non better for my off road use and an sorry I put the 315 BFG's on! They have and will always be a 2nd rate tire for me! If Goodyear made then in 315 17 I would be running them now!
