Tip of the day (check your lugs)
Check your lug nuts! Friday I noticed that both front wheels had a broken stud. I picked up replacements and changed them out Sat. When I took the front right off, another broke off when I went to take the lug nuts off. It must have been cracked already because it didn't take much torque and it came right off.
I don't use impact guns to tighten them ever! I'll run them down w/ a gun but, I always finish w/ what I have in the truck (since that's what I have if I'm on the side of the road).
Not sure why I had two broken in the first place. The last time I turned the camper (35' fith wheel, 12k lbs) around behind the house, I did go 4 low as to not abuse the clutch (on a hill). That's the only thing I can think of that might have torqued the front end.
Just an FYI for everyone to give'um a look.

TAS,
good advise, but something is wrong, lug bolts should not be breaking or lug nuts coming loose.
I would get another top quality torque wrench and check the tightness of you wrench.
could be your torque wrench is not working right.
on RV site: it saids to re-torque the lug nuts after about 100 miles of travel, but most people do not do this.
last summer, i found one lug nut on my trailer loose. after that they will be checked after each time the tires are pulled.
good luck,

I check the 5th wheel lugs every time I hit the road for a trip (and for the trip home). I carry a tq wrench with me. I must admit, I don't check the truck lugs though. Probably a good idea. I get the tires rotated every 5k at America's Tire and they torque the lugs manually with a wrench after snugging them with their air guns.
