:Ive got the dreaded tick,I know this has been discussed many times but I still havent heard a good fix. Anyone have any ideas? Truck has 55k on clock.

My most likely item is generally a injector. I put up with one for 50 K before it got bad enough to really get my attemtion.When I killed #6 cyl the knock went away. Upon removal the tip was washed while the rest were carboned up as normal. The knock went away, it idles correctlly and smoking has ceased.

 

My truck runs great no smoke idles good I have no problems every thing is normal except for the tick this is really starting to get to me.

Reach up and grab your injection line insulators. You know, the little clamp thingy's that hold your injection lines. They will sometimes loosen up and make a ticking noise. 8mm I think. My #4 is bad about it.
