Testing the fan clutch...
Hello - I've read that the way to test the fan clutch is to check to see if the fan can 'freewheel' (with the engine off of course). My truck's fan does freewheel, but if I try to spin it by hand, it'll only spin four or five fan blades and then stop. Is that normal, or should it freewheel something like a bicycle wheel.... (?) Just wondering.
when I was pulling my trailer up a large grade the radiator go up to 230 and I never herd the fan kick in, how can I test the fan system and see if the clutch is working it does free spin but no sure it locks up. ???????????? thanks ED
